Fast food retailer ‘Chooks’ knows the importance of ‘impulse’buying for takeaway food. While they’ll never have the resources for TV saturation like some of their more well-know competitors, they could make a splash on radio with an attractive offer. They just needed a strong message that they could play around ‘meal times’.
We came up with a corker of a spot that involved a young man singing his heart out (as best he could) about Chooks ‘Chicken roll and chips’ for 20 seconds, followed by a simple message at the end that tied everything together; ‘Chicken Roll and Chips are going for a song’. The spot turned out to be the most successful radio promotion the client ever ran, increasing sales of this product alone by over 250% during the time of the promotion.
